The Kernersville Chamber has established the Coaches Who Care Program. This program is a mentoring program for elementary, middle and high school students. This program allows volunteers to work one-on-one with students during the school day, for 30-45 minutes a week. The result of your efforts is that students feel adults care about their academic success and personal well being. They will achieve more because of your efforts.
The role of the “Coach” would be one that can read with a student, provide general academic encouragement, listen, guide, and create an atmosphere of trust to help strengthen self-esteem. If you are interested in becoming involved with our future leaders, please consider devoting at least 30 minutes a week at Kernersville Elementary. The program will last from the 2nd quarter of the school year until May.
