June 2019 Update

News ,

Who loves eating out? Who loves eating out for a great cause? Here at the Chamber, we count down the days to the second Wednesday of July, August and September because it is Eating for Education. With almost twenty restaurants to choose from, there is certainly something for everyone’s appetite. Dine out at any of the participating restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even a drink and portions from that day’s sales goes right back into our local schools.

In September, teachers from Kernersville schools will write grants requesting funds for items that they need for their classroom. Money from Eating for Education restaurants and private donors help fund those grants. In 2018, we were able to award 63 teachers with grants for a total of $26, 775.70. Teachers were able to purchase hands on STEM activities, guided readers, supplies for experiments, flexible seating options and so much more. Check out the list of the participating restaurants so you can plan your dining experience! Be sure to use #KvilleEatForEd so we can see all of your pictures!
