September 2019 Business of the Month BreakThrough Physical Therapy
BreakThrough Physical Therapy was named the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce/ Kernersville News Business of the Month for September 2019.
BreakThrough Physical Therapy began operations in 2007 in Morehead City with Jeff Hathaway, opening his first of 17 clinics. Dr. Drew Schlabach is the clinic manager for the office in Kernersville and the regional manager for the 4 clinics located in the Triad.
Dr. Drew Schlabach attended Walsh University in Canton, OH and then came to North Carolina for a clinical rotation and decided to stay. His first opportunity came in Fayetteville, NC before relocating to Winston-Salem. After 5 years in Winston-Salem as a staff physical therapist, he helped start BreakThrough Physical Therapy in Kernersville, which is located at 853 Old Winston Road, Suite 115. The clinic has been open for 3 years.
The goal of BreakThrough Physical Therapy is to “Help People Live their Life” the way they want to and not be limited by pain- without the need of medications and surgery. They do this by focusing on total health through a comprehensive approach. This includes manual therapy, dry needling and making sure patients are dialed in on how sleep, stress, diet and exercise play a role in their pain and recovery. He is excited to have just added Kristen Dye to the team. She specializes in pelvic heath, which is a specialty of physical therapy that addresses urinary, bowel, and sexual dysfunction. In addition, pelvic floor weakness can have a large role in chronic low back and hip pain.
BreakThrough Physical Therapy works with the Kernersville Police Department with wellness programs. They also participate in the Healthy Living Expo with the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce.
