Kernersville Auto Museum Named Business of the Month for May 2026

The Kernersville Auto Museum is the business of the month for May. Long time Kernersville residents Jim and Mary Taylor wanted a place for the community to gather and see pieces of automotive history. The museum has been open for four years and displays about fifty cars showcasing over one hundred years of automotive history. There are cars from several countries displayed. Some of the cars are from the Taylor’s personal collection but some are displayed for sale or to honor community loved ones who have passed away. Jim loves to see all the people’s faces light up as the look at the cars. The museum is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or by appointment and is located at 204 Holly Tree Drive in Kernersville. The Museum can be reached by phone at 336 414-4072.

Jim spent 43 years working in the aviation industry for Piedmont Airlines. He worked his way from the bottom of the organization all the way to president of the company before he retired. Jim is also a pilot and enjoys flying his own plane. He and his wife love to fly to beach to spend time with family and friends. Avoiding the traffic in their plane makes the trip much easier and quicker.

Jim has been involved with the town of Kernersville for many decades and loves to support the town in any way possible. He was one of the founding members of the Kernersville foundation, served on the chamber board for twenty years. He was the president of the Kernersville museum for three years and has been very active with many of the nonprofit organizations in Kernersville. It is safe to say that Jim and Mary’s dedication to Kernersville have been very evident and greatly appreciated
